I know that is what some of you will be saying when you see that I am finally posting a photo on this blog. But actually that is what this shot is called. Because if you can catch it, it's a miracle. But seriously, this is one of my favorites that I have captured lately and I wanted to share it with you.

Update

Well one thing is for sure, I don't like elephant! What I mean is I don't like being so busy that I don't have time to give every aspect of my life equal attention. Obviously my blog would fall into that category. While I'm busy taking loads of photos of everything from my son's varsity football team to the mountains and trees in Tennessee, I hardly have the time to process more than just a few of the best ones. And that stinks because that leaves me no time to share them with you.

Now that the end of the year is upon us everyone at my day job is trying to squeeze in all of their vacation time. And since I don't have anymore vacation time myself that leaves me to cover a lot of the overtime. The money is great, but the time just disappears so fast!

I'm in the process of putting together a calendar that will be posted to my website. This will allow all of you to see the openings in my schedule and you will be able to pick the best time for you to set up your session. This will also help me to get out of the stone ages and my desktop paper calendar and start using some meaningful technology.

Sometimes when eating that elephant you get tired of feasting off the same spot. Move around a little and find a spot that's a little tastier and graze on that a while. Maybe, just maybe that is where I'm headed with my website and hopefully my blog will get some much needed attention.

Keep chewn'

This has to be the question that everyone asks when they see this blog. Well, I realized that I was waiting for everthing to fall into place and be perfect. But everone knows that if you wait until everything is just right, it never will be. I've heard it a million times but it just never sank in. I'm learning what it means to "eat an elephant one bite at a time". So, I don't have all of the thrills and spills to tell you about yet but I'm excited about what I'll have to share with you real soon. Stay tuned and feel free to drop me a line.

By the way, check out a couple of websites. You will be glad you did.

Greetings from the UT Arlington campus. This is my first year attending the Texas School of Photography and it has been amazing! I have had the privilege of spending this last week learning from one of the worlds best wedding photography teams, Rick and Debra Ferro. Check out just a few of the images they have helped us put together.

Recent changes/CSS

Posted by claytonsphotography on January 28, 2009 at 1:54 PM Comments comments (1)

If anyone has visited the site the last couple of days you may have noticed that the look has changed a few times. I am trying to work with the CSS of my site template to clean it up a bit. However, it seems that my hosting service only gives me a very limited access to the html/CSS of the template. So far I have resorted to creating my header in Photoshop and simply placing it as a photo. I plan to do the same for the body.

If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears.

Katherine and Morgan Wedding

Katherine and Morgan sample

This past weekend I had the privilege of photographing the Vowl Renewal Wedding for Katherine and Morgan. Katherine is the daughter of long time family friends of mine, Billy and Sheila. I had not seen Katherine since she was a little girl until she showed up as one of the bidesmaids at a wedding I shot eailer this year. When I realized who she was I suddenly felt so old but it was great to see the beautiful young lady she has become.

I was thrilled when Katherine asked me to photograph her own wedding. It is great to be a part of special moments with people you have known for so long.

Morgan is one of our great Marines serving our great nation. I have so much respect and pride for our servicemen and women. It is such an honor to be a part of the lives of people you can be so proud of. Thank you Katherine and Morgan.

Of course I cannot end this entry without mentioning that it was 7-7-07. I don't believe luck has anything to do with a great marraige but it was neat to be included on the most popular day in wedding photography history.

Changes are here

I have now added a new updated payment policy section to the wedding package price list on the website. For some reason I had neglected to post this earlier but with the surge of inquiries from folks getting married this summer I had to get it done. So, there it is and as always feel free to drop me a line and let me hear from you on the blog.

changes soon to come

Posted by claytonsphotography on June 19, 2007 at 9:38 PM Comments comments (0)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I am very close to finishing up and posting some new changes in my pricing and payment policies. I've been working on them for a little while now and will be making the changes to the website soon. So be on the lookout for them. To those considering me for their wedding photographer and for those just browsing my work, be sure to check back often to see the new changes. I will be posting another blog entry when the changes are finalized.

Also, I am going to be putting together a "Favorites" page on the site soon. It will have photos of all kinds of stuff from the last two years of my perfessional career all the way back 14 years ago when I picked up my first SLR and started shooting. So everyone, please check back in on the site often and I hope to hear from you guys soon.
